the Heifer catalog? what?

My mother got a catalog in the mail that said: HEIFER INTERNATIONAL I thought it was going to be one of those magazines that has you adopt an endangered animal. But it’s the exact opposite! You buy an animal for some poor people in far away counties so they can eat it! Including guinea pigs? Which I don’t get at all because how much meat could a guinea pig have on them? They don’t eat all of them, some of the animals they use for milk and eggs and wool, etc. But mostly they are for eating! The catalog is the funniest! Each page says crazy things like: THE BUZZ ON BEES! A PRESENT OF PIGS! A GIFT OF GOATS! SHEEP: SHEAR JOY! WRAPPING PAPER, RIBBONS, AND RABBITS! Crazy.

The Ghostbusters song was on the radio this morning. I haven’t stopped singing it yet.

MEAT PARTY!

Saturday Erin and Bill invited us (me, chris, mom, dad, and aunt) over for grilling food! It was really good! There was: sausage, shrimp, steak, hamburgers, chicken, and ribs. It was also cool outside and I got to ride my bike around a little! YAY!

YAY FALL WEATHER! YAY!

MCCOMB, MISSISSIPPI.

I’m back at work today. :-( I would rather not be here.

McComb was ok. We drove down there on Friday, and woke up in the middle of the night on Saturday morning so Chris could get to Hammond, LA in time for the MS-150. I saw lots and lots of bicycles. I left him there and drove back to McComb and napped and knitted and picked Chris up after he finished riding 75 miles. The ending point for Saturday was at a state park in McComb. He was supposed to ride 75 miles again on Sunday, but there was a 90% chance of heavy rain, so he didn’t. Later, we found out that they canceled the ride in the middle of it on Sunday due to severe weather. We had already paid for the hotel through Sunday night, so we just stayed there and practiced being old people. We saw the sights of McComb which consisted of: a closed train museum, the McComb Cemetery, lunch at Picadilly, and a sad little mall. The antique stores were closed. I knitted a lot. Chris slept a lot. Monday morning we left and came home.

I didn’t work on Tuesday, but I’m back at work today. At least it’s already Wednesday and my desk wasn’t a disaster like I was expecting and there wasn’t too much work for me to catch up on.

So far the knitting of the sweater is much easier than I had anticipated. I will take pictures when I finished the first piece of it. I am the slowest knitter ever so that might be a while.

I think I’m going to go heat up my lunch in the microwave. Homemade chili! With cheeeeeese! YUMMMM!!!
