NOOK! NOOK!

Chris gave me a nook for Christmas! I love it. I think it will be great for reading books I’m not in love with. Books that I love (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc) will always require real books because I need to be able to flip pages and look around and browse the words for favorite parts. But for reading new books the nook will be perfect. It feels good in my hand. It’s not flimsy feeling, I feel like I can curl up with it. I love the e-ink screen and being able to make my font ginormous. It is so very very pretty. It’s not slow like some of the reviews said (although it has frozen up twice and I’ve had to restart it, but I haven’t used it enough to say whether that will be a regular thing). The two things that annoy me I’m sure will be added in updates: It doesn’t have the option to go to a specific page number, which makes reading pdfs difficult if I wanted to skip to the end. And it doesn’t organize the books according to author, but by when it was uploaded. I want to take it to a Barnes and Noble store and see what it’s like using it in there, but I’ve been sick and I haven’t done anything but lay in bed since Christmas.

I started feeling bad on Christmas day, and was in bed all day yesterday with an evil evil cold. Chris came over to visit me yesterday and gave me a stocking from his mom and dad. They are so sweet! My stocking was just stuffed full of goodies! Today I feel like I might not die, but I still don’t feel well. I am so very very tired of blowing my nose. It’s not fair to be sick when I get days off work.

I should upload Christmas pictures, but I’m too lazy to do it today. Instead I am going to just lay here and eat this banana and read books and watch tv.

oh Firefly, I STILL THINK YOU ARE THE BEST SHOW EVER.

These Blue Sun Travel Posters Series two are so great! Jayne’s Town poster! MUST HAVE! And the Shadow one is so pretty!

And another set: Blue Sun Travel Posters
I love the Visit Historic Serenity Valley. And Miranda.

I even like the BSG Propaganda Posters

I want to buy them all and frame them and hang them on the walls.

SQUEE!

#1. I am finally in the middle of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in my Harry Potter rereading! I love the books again! YAY! Apparently, killing off Sirius Black, among other things, made me mad to the point that I didn’t like Harry Potter until now. BUT NOW I LOVE IT. YAY!

#2. I also really love this dress on etsy. I have no idea where I would wear such a dress, but I think it’s fantastic.

#3. I didn’t like Dr. Who and the Waters of Mars at all. HATED IT. I don’t like mean crazy doctor doing things he shouldn’t. I like happy silly doctor.

#4. I am feeling crafty! I want glue! and pretty paper! And scissors! And glitter! Alas, I have none of these things right now. I don’t even know what I would do with them if I had these things. Make a collage? Maybe. Probably just make a mess.

#5. Yesterday and today after work I have gone on a short bike ride. This has succeeded in making the day 45% better than it was before I got on my bike.

#6. I can’t decide if I want to see the Sherlock Holmes movie. I have a crush on him anyway because of the Mary Russell series of books about him. But in my mind he doesn’t look anything like Robert Downey Jr.
