Chris gave me a nook for Christmas! I love it. I think it will be great for reading books I’m not in love with. Books that I love (Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc) will always require real books because I need to be able to flip pages and look around and browse the words for favorite parts. But for reading new books the nook will be perfect. It feels good in my hand. It’s not flimsy feeling, I feel like I can curl up with it. I love the e-ink screen and being able to make my font ginormous. It is so very very pretty. It’s not slow like some of the reviews said (although it has frozen up twice and I’ve had to restart it, but I haven’t used it enough to say whether that will be a regular thing). The two things that annoy me I’m sure will be added in updates: It doesn’t have the option to go to a specific page number, which makes reading pdfs difficult if I wanted to skip to the end. And it doesn’t organize the books according to author, but by when it was uploaded. I want to take it to a Barnes and Noble store and see what it’s like using it in there, but I’ve been sick and I haven’t done anything but lay in bed since Christmas.
I started feeling bad on Christmas day, and was in bed all day yesterday with an evil evil cold. Chris came over to visit me yesterday and gave me a stocking from his mom and dad. They are so sweet! My stocking was just stuffed full of goodies! Today I feel like I might not die, but I still don’t feel well. I am so very very tired of blowing my nose. It’s not fair to be sick when I get days off work.
I should upload Christmas pictures, but I’m too lazy to do it today. Instead I am going to just lay here and eat this banana and read books and watch tv.
