#1. The Puppy Bowl was wonderful. It made me happy to see that little dog running around like crazy. My mom and aunt and I got all distracted with our game of Scrabble to watch him.
THEN: My mother and I tied at Scrabble! TIED! That never happens.
#2. Saturday, I learned how to make Irish Wheaten bread. It is really good, and it’s so easy to make! Except it uses Irish flour. Aunt Rosie showed me how to make it. She stuffed her suitcase full of flour and cookies from Ireland when she went back home to visit after Christmas. (Also in her luggage was some Dalek Bubble Bath for me!) So far, the only place I’ve found to order the flour charges $10 for one little bag of it. Booooo. Oh, hot tea with milk and sugar is DELICIOUS! I never knew this until Saturday!
#3. I don’t care about the super bowl. At all. I am annoyed that MY CELL PHONE STOPPED WORKING after the game because so many people were on the phone. WTF! But I’m very very amused by my dad going outside to blow his horn after the Saints won and my uncle came running over from next door at his house wondering what the emergency was. I have no idea why the sound of a horn blowing = emergency to my uncle. Chris says my family’s house is like Gondor. Now I can’t stop giggling about this. It will be funny forever.
#4. I am painting a dresser black. I painted one drawer yesterday as a practice drawer to see how it would look. It looked a whole lot better than I was expecting it to look. YAY! Next weekend maybe I’ll paint a few more drawers.
#5. Axe Cop is the funniest thing on the internet! It’s a web comic. A five year old boy makes up the stories and his 29 year old brother who is an artist draws the comic and posts them online. THEY ARE THE BEST! GO READ THEM NOW! GO! Axecop.com
#6. Books: I read most of Boneshaker. It’s a steampunk novel set in back in the day Seattle. It started off really really good and then in the last third I got bored and skipped to the end. It turned into an action movie. The kind of boring action movie with TOO MUCH action and not enough of the characters talking. Blah. I’ve never had that happen in a book before. I had a hard time seeing the action in my head too. Something about the way it was written. Now I’m reading The Hound of the Baskervilles. So far it is excellent. I have no idea how it is going to end. Don’t tell me!
#7. Today I brought my lunch to work in my very very old Ewok lunch box.
